Campton Hills Collision Kills Two Speeding Accidents

A bizarre car theft has resulted in the death of an 18-year-old Maple Park man and a 30-year-old Wisconsin woman. Authorities say that the woman stole a car in Wheaton Saturday evening and was involved in a hit-and-run render-bender in Geneva. A Kane County Sheriff’s deputy then attempted to stop the woman and she fled on Route 38 at over 100mph.

CBS News reports that the deputies halted the chase due to the extremely high speeds, but that the woman kept driving into Campton Hills. There she hit a car driven by an 18-year-old Maple Park man shortly before 9 p.m.

Emergency responders declared the woman dead at the scene of the crash. The teen was rushed to a hospital in Geneva where he was then pronounced dead. Authorities say that the impact resulted in a chain reaction crash that resulted in two more people being hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries.

Another serious crash on Sunday sent seven people to the hospital. The Chicago Tribune reports that a multiple-car accident on Chicago’s South Side injured six adults and a child. The accident happened around 2:30pm near the intersection of Yales Boulevard and 83rd Street.

Some of the car accident victims suffered serious personal injuries and were taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital and South Shore Hospital.
