Chicago Dance Performer Accidentally Killed

Earlier this month, dance performer in Chicago, Illinois was killed in an unexpected occurrence. A steel acrobatics ring came loose and fell.  It hit him in the back of his head, which ultimately led to his passing.

This happened at Dance Works Chicago while the 22 year old performer and his peers were taking a break from their rehearsal.

The now-deceased dancer was from Mexico and had begun dancing at the age of 11. He started out with jazz dance, and moved onto ballet.  In 2013, he graduated from the National School of Classical and Contemporary Dance located in Mexico. His parents still live there.

A spokeswoman for the Mexican Consulate states “We gave them a list of funeral homes so they can contact them and decide if they want to send [him] home. That is standard procedure.”
