Metra Train Wreck in Barlett

Two people have been injured in Bartlett due to a train wreck that occurred October 21, 2013.

Around 3:30 p.m., a semi truck was carrying a load of vehicles when the Metra Milwaukee District West Line train collided into it.  Several of the vehicles that were loaded on the truck fell out and damaged several parked cars that were in the Metra parking lot.

Mike McGuigan is the Police Commander for Bartlett.  He states, Were really lucky no one was walking to their cars at the time.”

About twenty people were riding the train when it crashed, and luckily most of them were left unharmed, even though one of the train cars did derail.  Two people were injured, yet only slightly.

The accident is currently under investigation by the Metra police.
