tragic-accident-in-chicago-leaves-two-deadOn Sunday, an accident on the Bishop Ford Freeway on the South Side of Chicago caused two fatalities. In the accident, a passenger car and a semi-trailer collided in the early hours of the morning.

The accident occurred at 2:30 a.m. on the southbound side of the highway. According to Illinois State Police Officers, both of the individuals in the passenger car died.

Thus far, police have been able to piece together a harrowing story about the accident. It seems that the semi-trailer was reducing its speed in order to comply with the speed limit of the construction zone it was entering on Bishop Ford Freeway.

However, as the semi-trailer began to slow down it was somehow struck by the passenger car from behind. The passenger vehicle then slid underneath the semi-trailer and became stuck beneath the much larger vehicle.

Both men inside the vehicle died on the scene. Speeding was considered to be a factor in the accident. Lanes were shut down on the southbound lanes of the freeway until 8:00 a.m. on Monday.
