Michael B. Goldberg is a founding partner of Goldberg Weisman Cairo and is a leading Illinois Personal injury and Workers’ Compensation attorney. Michael graduated from DePaul University Law School in 1974 where he was the Assistant Business Manager of the DePaul Law Review. He began his legal career with the Illinois Attorney General’s office as an Assistant Attorney General in the Illinois Industrial Commission Division. While there, Michael concentrated exclusively in Workers’ Compensation litigation, where he represented the State of Illinois in Workers’ Compensation matters.
Larry is a founding partner of Goldberg Weisman Cairo. He has deep respect for working people, having grown up in a home where his grandmother was a union organizer. Since becoming a lawyer, he has concentrated in representing individuals who have been severely injured and families in wrongful death cases where a loved one has been lost. The catastrophic injury cases he has handled have involved quadriplegia, paraplegia, traumatic brain injury and amputations.
Since 1978 Bennett J. Baker has been privileged to represent injured people in their struggle for justice against insurance companies and large corporations. During this time he has also given time back to his profession by lecturing at numerous seminars pertaining to personal injury and trial practice as well as chairing various bar association groups in this field.
Joel Block has been with the law firm of GWC since February 1995. As an attorney concentrating in the area of Workers’ Compensation, Joel is one of the 3 most senior associates at GWC. Since joining the firm, Joel has been able to negotiate settlements in hundreds of cases for his clients. Joel has consistently made it his practice to maximize the value of his clients’ cases, whether that is accomplished by settlement, trial or appeal.
David L. Caplan has been a practicing lawyer for the past 30 years with the concentration in Worker’s Compensation Law. He has been a member of GWC since 1990 and a partner since 1996. In addition to handling a full caseload of complex workers’ compensation clients, Mr. Caplan co-manages the Worker’s Compensation section of the firm making sure that all Workers’ Compensation clients are handled as efficiently and expeditiously as possible, without compromising the quality of legal representation.

Christopher began working at Goldberg Weisman Cairo as a law clerk in 2007, while attending Loyola- Chicago Law School. Upon graduation, he began working for the firm as an attorney in 2008. In his time at Goldberg Weisman Cairo, Christopher has applied his tireless energy and dedication to a wide variety of personal injury actions in areas ranging from automobile collisions, construction negligence, premises liability, products liability, and wrongful death claims. Christopher is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
Corey B. Goldberg is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and DePaul University College of Law. As a student at DePaul, in conjunction with DePaul’s Street Law Program, Corey instructed inner city CPS students on the basics of the American Justice System. While attending law school, Corey worked as a law clerk for the firm being actively involved in all aspects of client representation, including all stages of Personal Injury and Workers’ Compensation litigation. Corey joined Goldberg Weisman Cairo as an attorney after graduating from DePaul.
Jim graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. He then spent several years as an Aide to U. S. Congressman William O. Lipinski, one of organized labor’s strongest supporters in Congress, prior attending Law School at Valparaiso University. Born in Chicago into a union family, Jim developed an early respect for working men and women that continues to this day.
Donn has worked as an attorney at GWC since September 2002. He was born the son of a union pipe fitter and a stay at home mom in Oak Park, Illinois. He was among the first in a large extended family to graduate from college and law school and is proud to have grown up in a hard working family.
The son of a family physician and emergency room nurse, it was Ross's parents who inspired him to fight for the rights of personal injury victims. Ross is a passionate advocate who has dedicated his career to the advancement of plaintiff's rights, and to that end focuses his career on catastrophic bodily injury, vehicular collisions, and premises liability.
