Michael B. Goldberg is a founding partner of Goldberg Weisman Cairo and is a leading Illinois Personal injury and Workers’ Compensation attorney. Michael graduated from DePaul University Law School in 1974 where he was the Assistant Business Manager of the DePaul Law Review. He began his legal career with the Illinois Attorney General’s office as an Assistant Attorney General in the Illinois Industrial Commission Division. While there, Michael concentrated exclusively in Workers’ Compensation litigation, where he represented the State of Illinois in Workers’ Compensation matters.
Larry is a founding partner of Goldberg Weisman Cairo. He has deep respect for working people, having grown up in a home where his grandmother was a union organizer. Since becoming a lawyer, he has concentrated in representing individuals who have been severely injured and families in wrongful death cases where a loved one has been lost. The catastrophic injury cases he has handled have involved quadriplegia, paraplegia, traumatic brain injury and amputations.
Kristina Aier joined Goldberg, Weisman & Cairo in 2011. She is admitted to the Bar of the State of Illinois and to the Bar of the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She earned a bachelor’s degree in history and literature, with a minor in Spanish and graduated cum laude from Ohio Wesleyan University. She then went on to earn her law degree from The John Marshall Law School.
Louis is a senior partner at GWC. Growing up the son of an Italian immigrant who owned a union construction company in Northern Illinois, Louis acquired considerable amount of experience and respect for the men and women working in the construction industry. His warm family upbringing has played a significant part in developing Louis’ reputation as an accomplished trial attorney in the representation of paralyzed and severely injured individuals, and families suffering the loss of a loved one in wrongful death cases.
Since 1978 Bennett J. Baker has been privileged to represent injured people in their struggle for justice against insurance companies and large corporations. During this time he has also given time back to his profession by lecturing at numerous seminars pertaining to personal injury and trial practice as well as chairing various bar association groups in this field.
David L. Caplan has been a practicing lawyer for the past 30 years with the concentration in Worker’s Compensation Law. He has been a member of GWC since 1990 and a partner since 1996. In addition to handling a full caseload of complex workers’ compensation clients, Mr. Caplan co-manages the Workers' Compensation section of the firm making sure that all Workers’ Compensation clients are handled as efficiently and expeditiously as possible, without compromising the quality of legal representation.
Bryant is an associate attorney at Goldberg Weisman Cairo, where he began working as a law clerk in 2010. Bryant graduated from Ohio University with honors in 2008, earning his degree in Journalism with specializations in political science and sociology. In 2011, Bryant earned his law degree from DePaul University College of Law. He has written and contributed to numerous published works (legal and otherwise), including a 2011 article found in Northwestern University Law School’s Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology.
Timothy is an associate attorney at Goldberg Weisman Cairo, where he started working as a law clerk in 2008. Timothy graduated from Ohio University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management and Strategic leadership. He went on to receive his law degree at the DePaul University College of Law. While at DePaul, Timothy competed in nationwide competitions as a member of DePaul’s mock trial team.
Michael A. Knobloch is an associate attorney at Goldberg Weisman Cairo and concentrates his practice in helping injured persons seek justice for their injuries. Since 2005, Michael has represented hundreds of clients in toxic tort, automobile, premises, construction, and wrongful death cases.
Michael joined GWC in May of 2010. Prior to joining GWC, Michael was an associate at another Chicago law firm and worked closely with GWC and Colin O’Malley in successfully settling one of the largest and most complex cases in firm history.
Donn has worked as an attorney at GWC since September 2002. He was born the son of a union pipe fitter and a stay at home mom in Oak Park, Illinois. He was among the first in a large extended family to graduate from college and law school and is proud to have grown up in a hard working family.
