Kitra K. Killen

Senior Associate

KITRA K. KILLEN is a senior associate attorney at GWC, where she is a key asset in the firm’s Workers’ Compensation department.

Raised in Northern Illinois as part of a family with strong union affiliations, Kitra joined GWC in 1992. She provides the firm’s clients with the expertise that she has gained over more than three decades of practicing workers’ compensation law. Kitra is well versed in cases involving amputations, severe spinal trauma, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), and career-ending injuries to the back, knees, and shoulders.

Kitra first developed her deep respect for unions in college, during which she spent three summers on a Chrysler assembly line as a proud member of the United Auto Workers. Upon graduation, Kitra attended The John Marshall Law School, where she earned her Juris Doctorate in 1985.

Kitra is especially proud of her track record of successful litigation before the Illinois Appellate Court, particularly in a highly disputed case involving a sheet metal worker who contracted a unique fungus on the job with near-fatal results. She obtained an arbitration award in excess of $350,000.00 in that matter, a decision that was upheld on appeal.

As a longstanding member of the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association, Kitra finds great satisfaction in helping injured workers and their families secure the benefits, rights, and compensation they so justly deserve.
