The Illinois State Police report that a Des Plaines eight-vehicle accident has injured at least nine people on the Tri-State Tollway.
Des Plaines Eight-Vehicle Accident Shuts Down Traffic
The Des Plaines eight-vehicle accident took place at about 8:37 a.m. on November 8, 2021. At that time, first responders arrived to find a collision on northbound I-294 that was approximately one quarter-mile south of Dempster Street. They found eight vehicles with moderate to heavy damage spread across multiple lanes of traffic. No vehicular extrication was needed, though nine motorists were evaluated in all.
Five of these motorists required transportation by ambulance from the Des Plaines eight-vehicle accident. Three were taken to Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights, while two were transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. None reportedly had life-threatening injuries. Additionally, four other motorists were treated at the scene but refused transported.
