Authorities from the Peoria Police Department have released details on a serious car accident that occurred just near West Ann and South Shelley Streets in Peoria on Saturday afternoon.
According to the report, witnesses in the area heard two to three gunshots before seeing a car speeding away heading westbound on Ann St, which then rear ended another vehicle, causing a fight to break out on the street before the at-fault driver ran from the scene on foot.
A brief chase ensued, with local Police apprehending the individual and taking him into custody.
While the driver seemed to be uninjured, the victim in the collision was rushed to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center with unknown injuries.
Police are continuing the investigation.
