An elderly woman was killed after being thrown from the vehicle that allegedly caused an intersection collision near far west suburban Hinckley, IL. Four others were also reportedly injured, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 11, 2017, at approximately 1:53 p.m., a 2006 Toyota Sequoia was heading westbound on McGirr Road when the driver disregarded a stop sign and collided with a 2009 Lincoln MKX heading northbound on Hinckley Road.
The Sequoia’s front seat passenger, Manivanh Chanhourack, 77, of Somonauk, was thrown from the vehicle upon impact and later pronounced dead at the scene.
The unidentified driver of the Sequoia was transported to Geneva’s Delnor Hospital. The 52-year-old backseat passenger of the Sequoia was flown via helicopter to St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford, where her condition was stabilized.
The 67-year-old driver of the Lincoln and his 65-year-old female passenger, both of St. Charles, were taken to DeKalb’s Kishwaukee Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Sequoia received a traffic citation for disobeying a stop sign.
