A Naperville four-car accident has claimed the life of a Chicago woman, according to a statement from the Naperville Police Department.
Naperville Four-Car Accident at Intersection
The fatal Naperville four-car accident took place on the early morning of April 27, 2021. Shortly before 7:45 a.m., 53-year-old Lesly Engel of Chicago was driving a gray 2003 Toyota Camry south on Naper Boulevard, approaching its intersection with Green Trails Drive. Ms. Engel then reportedly veered into the opposite lane traffic and collided with a northbound maroon 2016 Honda CRV.
The Honda rolled over before coming to rest upright just north of the intersection. Additionally, a white 2017 GMC Terrain and a white 2011 Lincoln MKZ that were also heading north were unable to stop and became involved in the collision as well.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene of the Naperville four-car accident shortly afterward and found Lesly Engel sitting unresponsive in her Camry. The Naperville Fire Department extricated Ms. Engel from the vehicle and transported her to an area hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. No other serious injuries have been reported.
Officials closed Naper Boulevard between Green Trails Drive and Dunrobin Road for several hours following the fatal Naperville four-car accident.
Fighting for Victims of Complex Collisions
Collisions involving three or more vehicles, like the Naperville four-car accident, can be especially challenging when it comes to determining liability. While the driver who causes the initial impact is typically at fault for the entire accident, sometimes more than one party may share the blame. The heightened uncertainty that comes with these types of incidents can prove to be a significant obstacle to victims when they try to obtain full and fair compensation for their injuries.
To make matters worse, insurance companies will frequently attempt to take advantage of this uncertainty to minimize their own financial exposure. To achieve a successful outcome in these situations, a plaintiff must construct a rock-solid case that is built upon a strong factual foundation, gathering as much information as possible from such sources as:
- Police Reports
- Traffic Citations
- Eyewitness Statements
- Physical and Photographic Evidence
Collecting these materials and deploying them effectively against the party or parties responsible is inherently difficult. For this reason, if you have been wrongfully injured in a complex collision like the Naperville four-car accident, consider doing what so many others have done before you and retain the services of the knowledgeable car accident attorneys at GWC Injury Lawyers LLC.
