Driver With No License Causes Fatal DUI Accident

Authorities say that a recent fatal Chicago car accident was caused by a 27-year-old woman who never had a driver’s license. The dental hygienist was driving around 60mph on West 87th Street when she served and struck a couple changing a tire. The woman’s blood alcohol level was over twice the legal limit at the time of the crash.

The accident happened around 10:45 p.m. last Saturday. The 39-year-old Riverdale man who was changing his tire was thrown about 200 feet. Authorities also noted that the impact of the car knocked him out of his shoes.

A 34-year-old woman was with the man was thrown about 125 feet and her coat was knocked off according to the Chicago Tribune.

Emergency crews pronounced the man dead at the scene of the accident and the woman was pronounced dead a short time afterward at a nearby hospital.

Investigators found the drunk driver’s car nearby, stuck on train tracks. The front of the car was extensively damaged and the woman had glass in her hair. Police officers also found an open bottle of vodka on the passenger seat of the SUV.

The woman faces charges of aggravated DUI involving death. Her attorney said in court that he did not know why she never got a license.
