GWC Participates in Annual DASH for Detection for Pancreatic Cancer Research

DASH for DetectionOn June 11, 2017, the attorneys, support staff, and friends of GWC Injury Lawyers participated in the DASH for Detection, an annual 5k walk/run to raise money for the Rolfe Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.

Team Goldberg, which set a record for the event the previous year, both in terms of fundraising and attendance, raised nearly $36,000 for the Foundation this year, with 81 team members participating.

Founded in 1999 by thDASH for Detectione friends and family of Michael Rolfe, a Highland Park man whose life was cut tragically short following a brief and brave battle with pancreatic cancer, the Rolfe Foundation is dedicated to raising funds to advance the development of early detection, support medical research, and provide resources for pancreatic cancer patients.

The charity is an especially personal one to GWC Founder Michael B. Goldberg, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in late 2015. Following successful treatment, most recently at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Michael’s cancer is fortunately now in remission, thanks in no small part to the efforts of the Rolfe Foundation.

“Johns Hopkins Hospital has a world-renowned pancreatic cancer department and is a regular beneficiary of funds raised by the Rolfe Foundation,” Michael said.
