An early morning Bishop Ford Expressway crash has left one person dead and two others injured. CBS Chicago reports that the two-vehicle car accident happened shortly after 3:30 a.m. on I-94 in the southbound lanes near 111th Street.
Police officers suspect that the car accident was alcohol-related.
Authorities say that the deceased car accident victim is a 27-year-old male. His identity is being held until his family can be notified. There are conflicting media reports as to whether he was pronounced dead at the scene of the car accident or at a nearby hospital. Two other people were transported to nearby hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
The accident happened when one car rear-ended another. It is unclear which vehicle the deceased man was in.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that another serious accident happened a few hours ago on the Dan Ryan Expressway. The accident occurred slightly before 1 p.m. on Dan Ryan near 48th Street.
The investigation is still ongoing but the Chicago Tribune is reporting that a male and a female were taken to nearby hospitals in serious condition.
