In a tragic accident, two 16-year-old girls were killed in a fatal Erie, IL car accident. The girls have been identified as Ashley Wunderlich and Samantha Stablein.
The crash investigation is continuing and it is unclear what caused the accident. Details reveal that the driver of the car lost control of the vehicle at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday night on Sand Road. A road just north of Cordova in rural Erie
When the driver lost control of the car, it slid into a bridge end and flipped over. The car traveled some distance and landed upside down in a ditch.
The car then caught on fire and both of the girls were fatally wounded. In a press release released by the Whiteside County Sherriffs office, officials announced that the accident occurred at 10:30 on Saturday Oct. 25 p.m. and that the cause of the crash was still under investigation.
