Daniel Barela

DANIEL BARELA is an associate attorney at GWC, where he works in the firm’s Litigation division.

Daniel graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science before attending Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate. While studying for his law degree, Daniel was an active participant in Chicago-Kent’s Plaintiff’s Employment Clinic and earned a J.D. Certificate in Labor and Employment Law from the school’s Martin H. Malin Institute for Law and the Workplace. He was admitted to the Illinois State Bar in 2023.

Daniel chose to pursue a career in law so he could advocate for those who have been wronged and provide an amplified voice for those who feel they are not being heard. He intends to always be the person others can rely on when they have become victims of negligence.

A lifelong native of the Chicagoland area, Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife and family, going to restaurants and live music events, and rooting for the Chicago Cubs when he is not playing baseball himself.
