Michael D. Krause is a trial attorney with more than 35-years of litigation experience representing clients in some of the most complex and high-stakes civil cases throughout Illinois and Wisconsin. After establishing a career as a fierce litigator on behalf of the insurance industry and private sector corporations, Mike has joined GWC as a partner focusing his skills and relationships in the legal industry on behalf of clients, and the families of those, seriously injured or killed as a result of construction accidents, auto/trucking collisions, product liability and medical malpractice.
As a former Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney and co-founder of a successful Chicago litigation firm, Mike has tried, arbitrated, and resolved hundreds of significant cases involving medical negligence, construction accidents, trucking and transportation collisions, product liability, premises liability, professional negligence, and other complex tort matters.
Having spent the majority of his career defending major institutions and insurance companies, Mike possesses a unique understanding of how defendants evaluate risk, develop litigation strategy, prepare experts, value claims, and approach settlement negotiations. He now leverages that experience to maximize recoveries for injured clients while preparing every case as though it will be tried before a jury.
Mike is admitted to practice in Illinois, Wisconsin, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the Trial Bar for that court.
His practice focuses on serious personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, construction negligence, trucking and commercial vehicle litigation, premises liability, product liability, professional negligence, and other complex civil litigation.
