Shannise Heady Dies in Car Accident

cars-300x161Shannise Heady, a native of Illinois, died in an accident on Sunday, Jan. 25. Heady played as a forward for Eastern Michigan University’s basketball team.

Heady was a junior studying health care at the university.  Before attending Eastern Michigan University, Heady attended Hillcrest High School in Chicagos southern suburbs.

The accident occurred at 1 a.m. in Ypsilanti Township. Heady was driving the car when her car crossed the center and hit another vehicle in a head-on collision. The driver of the other vehicle was rushed to the hospital, but reports indicate that the injuries were not life-threatening.

Also in the car with Heady was 23-year-old senior at Eastern Michigan University, Jordan Hopkins, who also died in the accident.

Law enforcement officials are still investigating the case, and the cause of the accident has not been established.
