Police have made an arrest in connection with a fatal hit-and-run motorcycle accident in Crystal Lake, IL.
One Dead, One Hospitalized
On September 10, 2019, a 53-year-old Crystal Lake woman was driving at the intersection of Virginia Road and Berkshire Drive just after 7:30 p.m. when her vehicle struck a motorcycle carrying two people. The force of the collision threw the two riders into the roadway. The male motorcyclist died shortly after the crash, while his female passenger has been hospitalized at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious injuries.
The driver who struck them fled the scene in her vehicle, but Crystal Lake Police located her on the 900 block of Wesley Drive about twenty minutes after the motorcycle accident. She was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash, though other charges are reportedly expected. The driver is being held without bond.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
