Fuller’s Car Wash Installs Safety Bollards After Tragic Accident

Fuller’s Car Wash in Hinsdale has taken steps to enhance safety on its premises following a harrowing accident that resulted in the death of a minor and multiple serious injuries to four innocent bystanders.

The incident occurred on July 17, 2023, when a Jeep driven by a Fuller’s Car Wash employee accelerated uncontrollably out of the car wash, striking and killing a minor pedestrian. The Jeep then crashed into Fontano’s Sub Shop, causing serious injuries to four patrons.

Since the fatal accident, it has come to light that there have been multiple similar incidents of Jeeps accelerating unexpectedly out of Fuller’s Car Wash in the past. According to a source who spoke to Fox 32 News, this is the third time a Jeep has lost control exiting the car wash, with the first incident dating back to the early 2000s. Fontano’s Sub Shop owner Dominic Fontano was also hit by flying debris in a previous incident.

While it is obviously most unfortunate that these needed safety measures were put in place only after this unimaginable tragedy occurred, GWC Injury Lawyers is pleased that the owners of Fuller’s Car Wash and the landowners have taken responsibility to make this premises safe for the public. The installation of safety bollards at Fuller’s Car Wash serves as a crucial first step towards preventing such accidents in the future and ensuring the safety of the public. The community deserves reassurances that measures are in place to prevent such incidents from happening again.

Our thoughts and support are with the victims and families as they continue to navigate through the aftermath of this heart-wrenching event.
