Louis C. Cairo Discusses Coronavirus Lawsuits on WGN Radio

On May 29, GWC Injury Lawyers Managing Partner Louis C. Cairo appeared on WGN Radio’s talk show Wintrust Business Lunch.

Speaking with host John Williams, Louis discussed lawsuits that reopening businesses could face if customers or employees become sick because of the coronavirus pandemic.

“When bad things happen to people, they usually talk to lawyers, and lawyers will find ways to file lawsuits,” said Louis.  “Unfortunately, there will be some meritorious lawsuits and there will be some types of lawsuits that are maybe not so meritorious, things that maybe shouldn’t be filed.”

Louis also talked about newly passed legislation in Illinois that creates a “rebuttable presumption” that essential workers who contract COVID-19 did so on the job.
