Nine Injured in Accident, Four Police

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

A little after 12 noon, two police cars were parked in order for the drivers to handle a routine traffic stop on Chicago’s South Indianapolis Avenue.  Suddenly, one of the police cars were struck by a Nissan Altima.  This pushed the police car into the Chevy Tahoe that was being pulled over.  The second police vehicle was also hit.

This chain reaction ended with a total of nine people being injured.  Three were taken to nearby hospitals and deemed to be in serious-to-critical condition.  Five others were taken in fair-to-serious condition, while one other declined to be seen by medics.  Four of injured parties were police officers.  Luckily, all of the people that were harmed in this accident are expected to survive.

Although the exact cause of the crash is unknown, police have taken the driver of the Nissan Altima into custody.
