[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Besides the holiday excitement and warm colors of nature, Autumn also means cooling temperatures and rain. Today fit that description pretty well. With about 4 inches of rain landing on the Chicago roads this morning, and more to come, this Halloween was a wet one.
Parts of Interstate 55, as well as Interstate 94, became flooded. Some ramps along the highway were closed off due to the dangers that come with driving in bad weather. The storms of this morning led to the counties of Cook, Will, DuPage, Kendall and Kane being under a flood advisory.
We here at GWC including Personal Injury Attorney Michael Goldberg, hope that everyone will practice good judgment while driving in these conditions. Consider driving a little slower than normal, and keep your distance from other cars. Brake more gradually. If you begin to hydroplane, try not to panic. Its best to release the gas and steer straight until your traction is regained. If all else fails, pull over and wait for the storm to lighten. Test your wipers before taking off.
It has been reported that about a fourth of all vehicle crashes happen during adverse weather. If you are unfortunate enough to find yourself in such an accident, remember to call the law firm of Goldberg Weisman & Cairo.
