On September 9, 2017, GWC Injury Lawyers attorneys Colin J. O’Malley and Kate Kirwan Searls participated in Painters District Council No. 30’s second annual PATCH Run with the Lion 5K. GWC also served as a sponsor. The charity event raised funds for the Painters and Allied Trades for Children’s Hope (PATCH) Foundation.
Founded in 2001 by the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, the PATCH Foundation raises funds for organizations that provide sports programs, educational support, and medical services to young people in need.
This year’s event took place at Aurora’s scenic Blackberry Farm. In addition to the 5k Run with the Lion for adults, there was a Little Lions Run for younger children. Afterwards, families stayed to enjoy free music and the company of the District Council, with a petting zoo, activities, and Blackberry Farm’s train for the kids.
“The weather was great and there was a strong turnout,” said Ms. Kirwan Searls. “I was proud to take part in such an enjoyable event for this wonderful charity.”
