Practice Areas

Lawrence Ruder is a senior litigation partner at the law offices of Goldberg Weisman Cairo. He is an accomplished trial attorney and has recovered millions of dollars in his 34-year career. His recent settlements of $8.8 Million for a Hispanic landscaper who suffered traumatic brain injury when hit by a school bus and $6 Million for a 28-year-old woman who suffered from complex regional pain syndrome after being hit by a CTA bus are but a few examples of his success.

He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice (Products Liability Committee), the Illinois State Bar Association, The Chicago Bar Association, The Lake County Bar Association (Civil Trials & Appeals Committee). He is also an invited member of the prestigious Society of Trial Lawyers and Leading Lawyers Network.

Highly regarded by his peers, Mr. Ruder has been awarded Martindale Hubbell’s AV-Pre-eminent rating (Bar and Judiciary), its highest ranking for legal ability and adherence to ethical standards in the legal profession; a recognition given to less than 9 per cent of attorneys nationwide. And, he has consistently been included in The National Trial Lawyers list of Top 100 Trial Lawyers.

Mr. Ruder is also extremely committed to serving the underprivileged and immigrant communities. He has proudly sponsored the Ruder Scholarship for Hispanic Law Students. And, for the past 14 years, he has provided pro bono legal counsel and assistance at The Most Blessed Trinity Parish in Waukegan and at St. Gall Parish in Chicago.
