DANIEL H. STRECKERT is a Partner at GWC Injury Lawyers, where he works in the firm’s Third Party division.
Dan earned his Bachelor of Arts at Northwestern University and a Juris Doctorate at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. Prior to joining the firm, he was employed as a caseworker at the Cook County and Illinois Department of Public Aid. He also worked I was an assistant public defender assigned to a felony courtroom. Dan feels that this early work experience gave him insight into the struggles people face throughout the course of their lives. He chose to practice law for the intellectual challenge and a desire to assist those who have been injured through no fault of their own.
Dan started at GWC in 1979 and has represented hundreds of clients for all types of serious personal injury cases. He has been a Partner at GWC for more than two decades. Dan focuses his practice on the development and litigation of catastrophic construction injury, wrongful death, product liability, and trucking accident claims, representing victims and their families.

Highly regarded within the legal community and with a proven track record of success, Dan’s aggressive preparation of his cases often results in him being able to resolve them before going to trial, most recently obtaining a settlement of $6.2 million for a brother and sister injured as a result of a with a truck. Dan is articulate, assertive, and creative in the prosecution of litigated personal injury matters, and he takes pride in obtaining just, fair, and appropriate compensation for my clients and developing and implementing litigation strategies to achieve those results.
A member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Dan was honored as a Super Lawyer in 2018 and 2019. As a strong believer that legal education is a lifetime activity, Dan has attended an advanced litigation seminar at Northwestern University Law School, received training on large and mass tort multi-district litigation cases at Duke University Law School, and taken more than 100 Continuing Legal Education courses. He is committed to applying these legal skills for charity, including a current appointment by the Federal District Court for Northern Illinois In connection with civil rights and personal injury litigation.
Dan is a valued leader to the younger members of GWC’s staff and an asset to the firm. In his spare time, he enjoys boating, bicycling, gardening, and cooking.
